June 23 through end of September - “Tea and Comfort”

This exhibition features antique tea items and vintage and antique quilts.

Hours 1-4 p.m., Wednesday – Sunday.

Members free, non-members $3.

September 10 – Annual Bridge Party

At 1 p.m. the card play will begin. Sumptuous desserts will be served at 3 p.m. To reserve your table call 978-632-3277. Cost: $20/person.

Percival Wayland White and his son Richard Frazer White were on the Titanic when it went down in 1912. Learn if they survived the disaster. Come to know more about the Whites from family letters, photos and artifacts shared by the Winchendon Historical Society.

They will come in period costume and their presentation will focus on Lt. J.D. Edgell and the wartime activities of the 53rd regiment from Gardner and vicinity. Wine and cheese reception from 6-7 p.m. Program from 7-8 p.m. Members free, non-members $3.

October 3 through the end of December - “Antique Toys” exhibit

From October 3 through the end of December, 2012, The Gardner Museum will present “Antique Toys.” Take a trip down memory lane at our exhibit featuring antique toys from the Museum’s renowned Heininger Collection as well as antique toys on loan from Museum members. Enjoy a fascinating and nostalgic exhibition of hundreds of unique toys including trains, wooden toys, china head and bisque dolls, and more!

Hours 1-4 p.m., Wednesday – Sunday.

October 18 – Quabbin Historian J.R. Greene To Speak About Strange Tales From the Old Quabbin

Towns He will relate some of the tales, which took place in the towns of the old Swift River valley before it was flooded for the Quabbin Reservoir. Greene will use visual aids. He will also hold a signing for his newly issued 2013 Quabbin History Calendar and his books.Wine and cheese reception from 6-7 p.m.Program from 7-8 p.m.Members $3, non-members $5.October 25 - Eleventh Annual Veterans’ Round Table

Alan Dernalowicz will again return as the moderator of this popular speaking program that connects military veterans from World War II with those who have served in Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan. The event will once again be held at the Gardner VFW on West Street.

Panel discussion from 7-8:30 p.m.

November 8 through December 1 - Eighth Annual Festival of Trees Mark your calendar – the dates have been set! November 8, 2012 through December 1, 2012, the Eighth Annual Festival of Trees will take place at The Gardner Museum, 28 Pearl St., Gardner. The Wednesday, November 7, Tree Kickoff is by invitation only. Event sponsors are Carriage House Restaurant, Colonial Co-operative Bank, Mack Family Funeral homes, Mount Wachusett Community College, People’s Fuel, Inc. and The Gardner News. This is an ongoing exhibit of various sized decorated artificial Christmas trees, each one with a special theme, along with wreaths, baskets and other items. Also for raffle will be a small log cabin, small Victorian dollhouse and a Colonial style dollhouse. The exhibit opens to the public on November 8 and culminates with a raffle on December 1, at 2 p.m.

There are limited hours on December 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A Holiday Social will be held on November 14, with a visit November 24 from Santa Claus and a photographer. Tree pickup is on December 2.

In addition to regular hours Wed. and Thurs. 1-4 p.m., the trees can be viewed during extended Museum hours on Fri. from 1-7 p.m., and Sat. and Sun. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Raffle tickets are $5, and include Museum admission for non-members.
